2014 Summer Hours

The Gaines/Oldham Black Culture Center will be operating under summer hours from Monday, May 19, 2014 until Monday, August 25, 2014. Please see below for details.

Hours of Operation:
Monday – Friday: 7:30am – 4:00pm
Saturday/Sunday: Closed

The center will be closed on the following dates:
Friday, May 23, 2014
Monday, May 26, 2014
Thursday, July 3, 2014
Friday, July 4, 2014

Black Women Rock! 2014

Join us for Black Women Rock! 2014: Pink Carpet Affair. Black Women Rock! models after “Black Girls Rock!” which originally aired on BET.  The goal of this event is to recognize the outstanding efforts and accomplishments of Black women at the University of Missouri and the Columbia area.  This year the event will feature a special recognition of Commissioner Mary E. Nelson. BWR! 2014 will be held March 8, 2014 at Conservation Auditorium located on the University Campus. Doors will open at 5:00 p.m. The ceremony will begin at 6:00 p.m. This event is free and open to the public.

Join the us for the “Sister 2 Sister Brunch” as we fellowship with MU students, faculty/staff, and community members during Women’s History Month while enjoying delicious food and hearing an inspirational message. This event will take place on Sunday, March 9th at 11am in the Gaines/Oldham Black Culture Center. This event is free but attendees are required to RSVP below by 5:00pm on March 5th. Your Story: Black Alumni Panel Discussion

Join us for “Your Story” on Saturday, February 15th at 1pm for a panel discussion by Mizzou Black Alumni and a networking reception. Event is free and open to the public. Business casual attire is required. Event is sponsored by the Gaines/Oldham Black Culture Center and the National  Pan-Hellenic Council.
