This year’s theme is “Around the World, Around Campus” You can visit six continents and travel thru seven millennia at the Museum of Art and Archaeology, hiss back at the live Madagascar Hissing Cockroaches at the Enns Entomology Museum, and see an Imperial Guard Uniform from China’s Qing Dynasty at the Missouri Historic Costume and Textile Collection, plus a whole lot more!
New to the Crawl this year is the Gaines-Oldham Black Culture Center, which will showcase an exhibition curated by Columbia artist Bryon Smith; and the Reynolds Journalism Institute Gallery, which presents the best in international award-winning photography.
In addition, the Residence on Francis Quadrangle, the oldest building on the oldest public university campus west of the Mississippi River, will be open from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00. Laws Observatory will be open from 4 p.m. until 9 pm. Gaze safely at the sun through special telescopes or wait until dark to view the night sky. Stroll through the Mizzou Botanic Garden while students and faculty from the MU School of Music provide music along the route.
This is your final chance to see visit the Museum of Art & Archaeology before they move in November to their new home at Mizzou North. The Museum’s artworks will all be resting in storage until the summer or fall of 2014, so seize the opportunity to visit NOW during the annual Campus Gallery Crawl!
